Disney (Mickey Mouse) got 100 years, why not you?

Last Friday, I joined the kids in watching their favorite show on the TV. I am a fan of what they do so I usually pay attention to the viewing content to make sure it’s right or wrong. Suddenly, an ad popped in reading “Disney is celebrating 100 years”, I said, “Hey Kids Mickey is 100 years old, why not look like Granny?” They just laughed.

Reaching 100 years of business and a reputable brand is challenging, right? The important lesson I learned is the “Power of Consistency and Persistence” in whatever business and economic activity you are doing. Although business has a lot of mysterious obstacles and setbacks, you should always pin yourself on the strategic vision and mission.

I merely think that someone reading this may be passing through tough times in her business and may be thinking about QUITTING. Do you think quitting is the best option? But think about Mickey!? A simple cartoon celebrating 100 years of the show. Can you feel how Disney went through the journey of making this celebrity and marking global recognition and acceptability? Can you think how was it during the first 5 years of Mickey?

Take this my dearest friend, Instead of thinking about QUITTING, It’s better to be QUIETE and think about;

Think about your market competition, and how to develop, innovate, and come up with a creative product or service that can be able to capture the target and stand alone.

Think about personal development, improvements (work and staff), and minor upgrades required in marketing and distribution channels.


Think about editing your strategic vision and mission, setting smart goals, and better utilization of resources.

Think about engaging with the right business partners, with the right attitude and compliance.

Think about how you will need to leave behind the Legacy to your world when you are gone! I am sure the founding members of Disney (Walt and Roy Disney) are not alive but the Legacy still exists.

You may also Think about how long are you in that industry until you want to QUIT, taking into consideration 100 years of Mickey! Remember, it takes time (Consistency and Persistence) to reach the elite levels of reputable business and corporate BRANDS.
